Humans can be a disappointing race. Hurting. Lying. Cheating. Petty. Greedy. Deceptive.
You really can’t run from it. It’s in the falsified publications reported by officials. It’s in the news that’s been paid for. It’s the people doing wrong things, for the wrong reasons. It’s pain.
But it’s not everyone. Even though it can feel that way sometimes.
There’s only one way to make sense of it all and keep believing in the good fight. Here’s the kicker though, you have to not be an asshole/jerk/liar yourself. Sounds kinda simple, and it really is. It’s just not that easy to execute and maintain. Especially in the face of some people who seem to be pure evil.
Plant seeds of success or doubt
Even the smallest of lies from your mouth can plant a seed of doubt in your own mind. If you’re capable of it, so are other people, right? It only makes sense. But, like that saying you are what you eat, you are also who you hang out with. Who you listen to. What you believe in. If you have positive thoughts and affirmation over bad ones. Essentially, you’re only as good as the promises you keep to yourself and others.
So set your own standard
Expect nothing less of yourself. As per the above mentioned, you just can’t do it any other way. Otherwise, how can you possibly keep believing?
The world, media, strangers, friends and family may think one way, but only you know where your head and heart are leading you to go.
Fail!
If you make a mistake, own up to it, apologize and move on. Many people live their lives regretting and hurting because of things they’ve done in the past. Or for listening to advice that was wrong. It already happened. You can’t change it. So, change how you act and react next. Tomorrow comes faster than you think. The present is already gone.
Here’s why you shouldn’t give up
1) A strong foundation of morals. Where do you draw the line? What’s wrong and right, and why? What do you believe in and why?
- Love
- Work
- Play
- Hobby
- Volunteering
It’s a struggle
Think about it
